SERVICE PROJECTS
Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion Training and Consultation
I have a passion for DEAI and am dedicated to bringing more knowledge and training on these topics to Scouting America. I bring a DEAI lens to all the volunteering I do with the program but take a more active role in the development and delivery of various trainings. Whether it to helping to organize and staff a Council Service Territory DEI Conference, running a session on LGBTQ+ scouts, or doing one on one consulting for a leader, I work hard to meet people where they are at and push them to be a better version of themselves for the youth.
I provide a variety of training and consulting options for units that might be interested in expanding their knowledge and offering in this area.
Please reach out to if you are interested in working with me in relation to DEAI and Scouts!
Baltimore Area Council Training Courses
As an adult volunteer, I staff and lead several annual training programs. The programs I am currently most active in are Trainer's EDGE, National Youth Leadership Training, and Wood Badge.
All of these trainings are different but aim to provide important skills to youth and adults to help them grow as speakers and leaders. Wood Badge, in particular, provides an immersive experience for other adult volunteers to learn the fundamentals of scouting, leadership, diversity, and youth development.
Assistant Dean of DEI, University of Scouting
The University of Scouting is a one-day, yearly training conference. As Assistant Dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, I have created a full day curriculum of courses related to basic DEI principles geared towards scouters. The goal is to allow adult volunteers to gain a baseline of understanding in DEI. This is the first of its kind for the Baltimore Area Council and National Area Territory 12.
